Since 2016, the Wyoming Business Council has approved $18,655,249 in grants to cover the electricity and broadband bills of billionaire developers and billionaire tech companies building and operating data centers in Wyoming.
These subsidies — awarded under the Managed Data Center Cost Reduction Program (created in 2016) — mean that Wyoming taxpayers are footing the utility bills for some of the richest corporations on earth.
Meanwhile, families across Wyoming are struggling to fill their gas tanks, buy groceries, and keep their own lights on.
So why are hardworking Wyoming residents paying the bills of billionaires?
That’s not right. And it’s not the Wyoming Way.
